Perspective

When darkness fell you held me in your hand.
Taking care of me just like I was one.
You kept me close, almost falling like sand.
You saw me once again, let me fall and
Slip away to the shadows one more time.
When darkness fell you held me in your hand.
Like an hourglass, it was all planned.
I screamed to you ‘please’, you laughed at my face.
You kept me close, almost falling like sand.
I lay there in the cold unable to stand,
I turned to you one last time knowing that
When darkness fell you held me in your hand.
I thought to myself, could you understand
The pain? Then I recalled that nobody knew that
You kept me close, almost falling like sand.
Could you forgive me? Could you help me land?
You would! That’s great, just give me one more chance!
When darkness fell you held me in your hand
You kept me close, almost falling like sand.
