Poem

A beloved picture sits on a shelf snug in a frame and in my heart
The glowing smile of someone who’s been loved
Soft skin, rosy red cheeks
If only I could spend a couple more minutes with her loving heart
Playing tag and hide and seek in the yard
Tucking her into bed and telling her stories at night
Making her breakfast before I drop her to school
Receiving that last kiss
Beautiful in every way
A short memory beloved in my heart forever and ever.
Memories live with me everywhere I go.
