Parkes High School - poetry installation

We have constructed a mini Poetree forest and it has been growing in the centre of our library, the hub of the school for the last few weeks. It has given students a way to share their poems with other year groups and encouraged students in the younger grades to compose their own poems.

It has also helped encourage sustainability with the recycling of cardboard boxes donated by a local retailer and the reuse of culled paperbacks as leaves. The autumn colour range was chosen by students to symbolise how objects can lose significance or gain it when attached to fading memories or the loss of loved ones.
