The glistening drops of rain, resting on the leaves,
The coolness of the water, calming you as you touch it,
Dripping, dropping, dancing, melting all your worries,
Shining like a star, free as a wild wolf.

Longing embraces you, you know your home is here,
The droplet falls to the ground, shattering from the impact,
You snap out of your daze, all the beauty is gone,
The roar of the tractor, the helpless cry of the birds.

You know the time has come, the peace is gone,
In a few days, it will all be gone, as if it never started,
The cry of pain, from the trees and leaves, as if it never started,
I look back now, I close my eyes, I see my home as it all dies.

I imagine the rain, resting on the leaves, I imagine the beauty covering me,
When I come back to reality, I see buildings, I see bridges,
I miss my home, I miss my land, I miss my creatures, I don’t understand,
Why take it away, why kill it all? Why destroy it, destroy it all?
