Though I didn't see you much before you passed away
When I was with you I cherished every bit of the day

You gave me a very special object indeed

But in 1940 you ended up a resistant in a land of cruelty
For you it might not have been much but for me it's everything
Your resistant war lamp
With it you didn't end up in a dire war camp
With this world war you fought in and got through
