Mother nature casts down the trees

Thunder chuckles, cackling with glee

Playing a round of dominos

With the roots that were my home

Mother nature pours down rain

The sorrow and sadness flooding homes and hearts

We flee

Where her vengeful gaze can no longer find us

Leaves mix and meddle in the froth

Dancing atop their safety net

Driftwood embarks on a journey out deep

Mimicking our search for safety

Hearts beat in sync

With the waves

With each other

With the seagull's wings

Mother nature holds out a hand

We learnt the lesson she taught

Strands of seaweed wave goodbye

We leave the comfort we had sought
