There's the little warty-faced honeyeater,

That's usually found in southeastern Australia.

They move large distances around the south-east of Australia,

Eating eucalyptus leaves and insects as it goes.

Black with lemon yellow are my colors,

About 300 left in Australia.

Live up to about 11 years max,

But the oldest to live was 17 in captivity.

It glides over the dewy wet grass,

There's a storm coming its way.

The petrichor scent leads north,

As its flight time is short he stops for a snack of some eucalyptus.
