Ruined Reflection

I knew someone who lived in the mirror,
It replaced my eyes for new ones.
And now all I can see is a monster.
It peeks out whenever I see it
Shoving unwanted whispers into my head,
Suffocated by the thoughts circling my mind.
Disgust constantly floats in my wave of thoughts,
Drowning in words of shame,
Hours wasted listening to it,
Believing it.
But the monster doesn’t only live in the mirror,
It lives within me.
