The sun crests the hills, a yolkish dome

Casts a glow against my home

An abode of boughs and leafy greens

Where I can snooze for hours unseen

I want for nothing, my needs are met

As long as I'm cradled in my vegetable net

If on the ground there is torment or fear

I rest easy, it can't reach me up here

I am detached from the worries of below

Where dingoes wail and hot winds blow

I observe all from my high point of view

See right through souls, if only you knew

Who am I, you ask, just what kind of being

Could derive from life such simple meaning

So if I must explain to you

I am koala, this much is true
