I peer out my window at the waves
All different shades of green and blue
I remember last summer
When I went to the beach every day

The warmth on my skin
The freedom of an eagle
Becoming a part of the water
Gliding through the pristine blue

In the ocean, I feel weightless
Watching the golden sunshine set upon the distant horizon
Watching surfers return to the seaweedy shore,
Before it gets dark

The rhythmic motion of the waves
Crashing onto the rocks
The boats rocking gently
In the salty breeze

But I have to forget the beach
I snap back to the computer,
The work,
The busyness of life
