Ancient gums tower above,
Like great green giants,
Stuck solid in time,
A single leaf drifts down,
On the gentle breeze,
An earthy smell permeates,
Awakening my senses,
Calming my mind and body,

A bluish haze lingers,
As I gaze over the mountains,
The sun slowly sinking,
Beyond the horizon,
Then from nowhere,
A birds call echoes,
From across the valley,
Followed by a chorus of replies,

Water gently trickles,

From a bubbling brook,

Set back in the hillside,

Surrounded by a mound of dirt,

Round grey pebbles,

Lay at the bottom,

Worn smooth by the water,

My reflection looks up at me,

A place of serenity,

Of calmness,

Of nature and beauty,

A place of warmth
