Shorts

These shorts have meaning.
A tattoo
that shows who I am:
shows that I had to fight to get to where I am.
the flames of gold burn against the black
like the flames of glory burning against the ring,
reminding me of how hard things can be,
But how great the prize is.
They make me remember the things you have to give up
and the things that are taken.
We all pay a price
for the things we love
for our sports
for our passions.
