Soccer Ball

The deafening thud
as I am fired out from the canon
and across the pitch.
The many feet i have stroked.

Hundreds and hundreds of goals,
I have scored
yet every time i ram into the net,
people cheer the person that scored
but never me,
the poor,
old,
soccer ball.
