A flame set off in the sky,

Trees swaying in the distance.

Plants rise up to the mountains

far beyond any human reach.

Bird’s wings flap like a soft mellow string on a guitar.

Leaves float to the ground like snowflakes,

On a cold winter night.

All I  hear is the sound of a slow heartbeat

In the trunk of a hollow tree.

I slowly walk along a small path of dust.

In the corner of my eye

I spy something amazing.

The night forest comes alive

Hundreds of creatures

Scurrying by.

It is a sight to behold.

I could stare at it for hours,

But it is getting late.

Tomorrow I will come back,

To be one with nature once again.
