Soon

The luscious green trees fill the sky

but soon the lakes will be dry

All animals in children’s books are alive

but they're not going to be here in 2035

I go outside to breathe fresh air

but soon that would be impossible, it is so unfair

Smiles on every face

but soon saving the earth, and destroying it will be a race

Earth is one in a billion

we are all its citizens,

so why are we acting privileged?

Resources are getting limited

Many people are suffering

so why are we wondering?

We are the cause of climate change

but when we see more bushfires and droughts, we think it’s strange.

So, let’s not make the next generation suffer

Let’s try and recover

because in three years climate change will not be reversible

and if we are able to stop it, that would truly be remarkable.
