Soul of the Blue Whale

Across the depths of silent homes
Mournful melodies ride the waves
Beyond the oceans, my mate roams the
Barren paradise of his watery grave
Ever the pearls of the soaring seas
Mighty figures gracing the swells
Now our souls will mount the salty breeze
And our bodies amidst the splintered shells
We were once sapphires of the daring deep
Stolen by ignorance in all its glory
Oceans are tears of the grief we weep
The kelp retains our vanishing stories
Seas shall lament a cosmic loss
Of the great blue guardians that drifts its waters
Bygone cultures glistening like gloss
Beside our kind, obliviously slaughtered
As phantoms of the past
Peer into our futures
Will hope replenish in oceans vast?
Or fade away, wounds left unsutured
