Spring

Blossom sits like fallen clouds
On a tangle of bare branches;
Pink like fairy-floss,
White like snow,
The flowers smell like honeycomb.
Daffodils huddle together
Like penguins keeping warm;
Six-pointed stars,
Yellow like lemons,
With a cone-like tube extending out.
Birds start to make nests,
Flying back and forward to collect;
Hair and feathers,
Grass and twigs,
Ready to lay their eggs in.
It's slowly getting warmer
And the creatures are emerging;
Beetles, birds,
Bandicoots and butterflies,
I love it in spring!
