I feel the blazing, hot sun burning against my skin.
I feel hot, dry air blowing intensely in my ears.
I feel sweat dripping and dribbling down my back.
I feel the warm summer night surrounding me.

I hear dry leaves and grass crunching.
I hear the ground sizzling beneath my feet.
I hear the slow trickle of water down an empty river.
I hear the thirsty animals crying for water.

I smell the baking earth drowning in heat.
I smell the bushfire smoke, enveloping me.
I smell the ripe crops as they’re collected for harvest.
I smell the dirt and dust, as the hot wind blows.

I see the dry crops melting away.
I see the blazing hot sun burning in the sky.
I see the parched dry ground, cracked and thirsty.
I see the wilting plants, searching for rain.
