Summer's Embrace

Its warm glistening light makes the water shine bright.
The cool breeze invites me out to sea,
It's a sight as beautiful as can be,
Golden rays kiss the shore,
Whispers of waves, a gentle roar.
Sand beneath my feet, warm and fine, footprints fade,
everlasting over time.
I look around met with laughter and joyful cries,
The scorching sun arises and parches my body until my skin is left dry.
Seagulls paint the sky,
Ready to pounce at stray food left on the kilometres of white,
There's no place I’d rather be than in the sea,
In the sweet season of summer.
