Looking to the saffron sky

Its beauty holds my eye

As I watch the colours fade

The sun, the life of the world sets

The westward sky is streaked with cloud

The sun’s rays makes it almost holy

I can picture angels rising high

To reach that place that gives them joy

If I stand here quietly tomorrow

I know the picture drawn will have changed

For no one sunset is the same

They have a quality all their own

The light is fading into the horizon

The first night star appears

My ordinary life is calling

As I have places I must be

Tomorrow brings a new day

With it and end as well

My mind and heart are looking west

For it is the sunset that I crave
