Teddy Bear

Fluffy like a rabbit
as small as a mouse
I cuddle it when I'm scared and it takes the nightmares away
if I don't, the bogey man will stay.
Had it since it was 2 weeks old
in and out of the wash,
it's a miracle it still hasn't got a rip.
Maybe a little rip whispered.
Sometimes it speaks to me or ignores me
he tastes like victory
I can't believe that he has survived with me
gone to pre-school a couple of times.
NSW to QLD, survived the trip to sunny Gunny.
White with purple dots cutest by a mile
All my friends will stop and say,
"How do you get that teddy bear to play?"
Take it to the park to play, having fun with it everyday.
Now it's getting old.
Has a soft ear and a rough one,
sitting on my mother's chest of drawers with her beautiful childhood bear.
Moved a couple of houses but that's OK.
This is poem to share with you today.
