The Acacia Leptoneur

The beautiful Acacia Leptoneura
that has been fulfilling its purpose
which is to die
lonely in the valley.

As all the trees
sway to their soulful serenade
to wish the plant a farewell;
and a good place to rest
as it slowly decays
until it runs out of the force
that keeps it bound to the earth,
that has protected it
for its entire time here
in this flourishing forest
that will live for eternity.

If the plants stay
and sway to the breeze
that glides along the leaves
with a certain delicacy
that beautifully blows
the autumn trees,
all but the one
the Acacia Leptoneura
the one that has died
the one in the valley
over the dead rabbit's grave,

The one we need to care about
nature has done its part
and now we must do ours
for the protection of nature
and we must now protect
the beauty of nature
and keep the peace
that comes after our acceptance of death.
