Sand beneath my bare feet burning, as if I was walking on fire. I sprint to the cold salty water to cool me down. Every year on New Year's Day we drive in our car to the beach, to find a perfect shady spot to meet our family. Splashing, swimming and laughing, this is what we do all day. Oh, what fun we had. I explore the water going down to the ocean floor, then coming back up gasping for air, wondering how it would feel to be a sea animal gliding in the deep blue water. Watch out for the crab! I scream as it scatters across the bumpy sand. Hundreds of shells buried in the ground look so shiny and others tiny when you pick them up. I go collecting them with my brother along the sandy seashore.

The golden sun shines, as we find the perfect shell.
