The Big Beast

Dry winds blow past,
making the most of things while it lasts.
In fear a bushfire will come,
for if it does we will all be done.
One small spark starts it all, hope and happiness begin to fall.
Boom! Eucalyptus trees weep as they burst into flames,
animals cry out in pain.
Fire rages, people scream,
this is clearly the worst bushfire we have ever seen.
People run, people flee as their home explodes into debris.
The smell of thick black smoke piles into the air,
as the hearts of many are filled with despair.
Fire is a deadly thing, fire is an evil king!
Fire.
Fire.
Bright red trucks drive down the road,
to parry the attacks of the big red glow.
Fires are fought and happiness brought,
green growth has come back,
peering out from the endless black.
