The Black Glossy Cockatoo

I'm black glossy, sleek but small.
I hide away in the Sheoaks tall.
Do you know me, because I know you.
I'm the black glossy cockatoo!
The Sheoak is my favourite tree,
And this becomes our final plea.
Stop taking away the trees, my home.
I just want to be left alone.
I fly and eat in groups of three,
Far away from the human eye to see.
I eat nuts, almost nothing more.
What do you think my beak is for?
I'm one of five covered in black,
Yet I'm the smallest on the rack.
Hey, it's me, can you guess who?
I'm the black glossy cockatoo!
And even though I’m lesser known,
Please try to protect my home.
I'm dying out fast, it's true.
Ask yourself: what can you do?
