The Black-Striped Tiger lived right here in Australia,

However, it fills me with sorrow that they died out 86 years ago,

In modern times the Thylacine is held with much regalia,

But before 1936, the Thylacine was hunted, hunted to extinction, it fills me with woe.

They were thought to be vicious, destroying farmland,

And though many people cared in thought,

None were willing to make a stand,

Millions of people stood still, simply watching the bout.

Though Thylacine/human attacks could happen,

They were extremely rare,

Since Thylacines were peaceful creatures,

It seems us humans were the ones always laying the snare.

But fear not,

My anxiously listening peers,

We have learned from our past malevolent plots,

We cannot waste our one last shot.
