The Blind Murderers

The birds chirp at the top of the trees,
Where will they be when the trees are deceased.
The fish swim in the water we polluted,
And because of us they are persecuted.
The air is supposed to be fresh,
But right now it tastes like death.
The animals are expected to feel at home,
But we ruin their habitats and force them to roam.
The seagulls soar above the ocean,
But the plastic on their wings stops their motion.
The koalas eat the eucalypt leaves,
But what happens when there are none left for them to feast.
The kangaroos geographical range is at risk,
And the climate change temperatures are what’s causing this.
The humans live on this land,
And we are ruining it with our own hands.
We still burn fossil fuels and hope the land will be alright,
But we act as if everything happening around us, is out of sight.
Would you feel comfortable to stand,
And say I am the blind murderer of my land?
