The sea waves crash upon the shore,

Endless expanse of blue I adore,

It renders me insignificantly small,

Lost in its vastness, enthralled.

In a daze, I glimpse a shining light,

Boarding a vessel, the journey takes flight,

I hear a voice, familiar and kind,

"Sleep, my child, leaving childhood behind."

The salty sea breeze brushes my cheek,

Yet I can't discern if it's salty or meek,

Are those tears, borne of a bittersweet trail,

Lost amidst the waves, blended, pale?

I turn to gaze, looking back in vain,

The tender silhouette, now ocean's domain,

Transformed into white foam, no trace to find,

Vanished, forever lost in time.
