The Blue Bird

My first precious piece of gold,
a little blue bird badge
with my name engraved.
Silver letters pressed into the plate,
so cold and yet so warm.
Pinned close to my heart
the lacquered blue bird swoops
and the gold chain hangs.
The infinity sign as a border;
a reminder of the infinite love of my grandparents.
