The Broken Earth

We were once a small, thoughtful kind
No machines or racism or war
Humans began to decide
That we could use our brains for much, much more
Guns and bombs and things
Were created for our pleasure
People made themselves queens and kings
In pursuit of glory and treasure
We began to breed and breed
And overpopulate the planet
So, people began to read
Stories of worlds with fruit and pomegranate
