The Burning Flame

Blazing with fire
Burning to the eye
Warm coral red
Fireworks riding the sapphire sky
A festive ring to the season
Her conspicuous bell-shaped flowers
Bold, vibrant, flamboyant, gleaming
You could stare at her for hours
Autumn vibes are springing to the air
As all kids run under
Showering themselves in her flowers
As parents sit and wonder.
As pretty and colourful as this tree may be
She hides a little secret from you and me
She attracts birds and native animals due to her splendid colour
But she is toxic and hurtful to the animals that are free
Her leaves die off at the end of winter every year
But people look forward to seeing her flower reappear
