The Calm

I can hear the waves. 

They’re crashing and splashing.

It smells salty. 

A crowded beach, a metropolis of sounds

I am one thing in thousands.

It feels like I am an ant.

But it's also like I am 20 feet tall. 

The sand is gold, like the sun.

Reflections from the pebbles

I see the sunset orange and gold and blue and purple

The sunset tie-dyes the clouds.

I look back at the sea 

I see ships and dolphins 

I feel like I am in heaven 

Like am the only person on the beach.

I hear cars in the distance,

Here, it is peaceful. I can fall asleep.

It’s dark. I hear the waves.

Beautiful and peaceful

A flow from dawn to dusk.
