The Campfire

Sun setting in the distance
darkness creeping through the trees
camp fire burning bright
like a baby sun setting on the ground
red tulips dancing in the light
blades of orange leaping and falling
frisky flaming fire balls
ever growing heat like a hot chilli in my mouth
out of control.. the beast can attack the land
a jaguar pouncing on it's prey
hungry for food.. a heat-god
controlled.. a warm friend
hissing and crackling.. talking to me
searing pain if touched
but warmth-giver if left alone
dying light as it leaves the world
glowing light vanishes leaving fine ash
stars shining brighter than before
but a sorrow fills me seeing my friend leave
Camp fires are very special to me because my family goes camping and we have such wonderful, peaceful and happy family times. Gazing into a camp fire makes me forget about all my troubles. I feel at peace with the world. I love the dancing flames and the warmth and cosiness the fire brings to my world.
