The Campfire

Birds rushing through the trees,

Singing and squawking,

Slippery wet rocks,

Owls hunting at night,

Whispering people and animals howling,

Kids talking in fright,

The muddy, rocky water,

The gushing river,

Slimy gooey frogs croaking and splashing,

Flooding and leaking,

Inside the tent,

Damp sleeping bags and the wet floor,

Worms drowning and scattered sticks,

People gathering around the campfire,

Waiting for the wet slimy sticks to start a fire.
