The Daintree

The quiet rushing creek,
the moist ground squelching underfoot,
cheep of the nearby birds, 
vibrant plants sprouting from the dirt,
thump of the tourists’ heavy feet, 
scampering of the bush rat, 
several trunks twisted,
blooming flowers in the sun,  
echo of the wind sweeping through the trees,
the scent of the freshly dewed plants,
towering sage ferns,
peaceful steps on the wooden walkway,
so many special species, 
sunshine peeking through the treetops,
gorgeous home to many animals, 
the Daintree Rainforest
