The Day Things Were Different

Pain slashes across my skin, nothing I haven’t seen. . .
Fire rages all around, losing my last sight of green
But today everything seemed different; fires more powerful than before
More thudding fall of trees - no oxygen anymore
The boiling tongue of fire will lick the world away
Everything seems so vehement - the world is starting to decay
There is something in the distance - something menacing and cruel
Am I the only one to see it? Why are you such a fool?
Something we have fretted for long; something dreaded and feared
But I’m afraid to say the end is here and all life has disappeared
Scientists have made predictions; they even made a day!
But who would have thought it would come so quickly; the world has been led astray!
Looks like this is the end for me, my grass is turning to ash
All the streams are now dried up, looking like a painful gash
Oceans becoming lava, inhospitable for life
The only thing that caused relief, now only causing strife
You thought it was a joke, even entertainment!
Well here it is I am suffering; enjoy, but you are dead; not here to make the statement
Watch all the movies you want but it will never slow
The death of the world which is now and there is nothing you can do to stop it.
