The Forest

Light stress through the leaves,
Upon the dark muddy floor,
The brown crawling up my once white dress,
Staining the fabric forever,
Time warps together in this forest,
Days and nights become one,
Memories of civilization run from my mind,
As I am consumed by the forest,
The crunch of leaves below me,
Trees cage me in,
As whistles of wind fly in the distance,
Flowers beginning to bud,
A phantom call of a bird,
Lost in the wails of the rain.
