I felt alive to be away from the city and its congested highways.
Like a jolt of electricity, the radiant of the mellow and mystic morning sun gave me a sense of warmth knowing I could finally escape the internal darkness.
Choked by its own overgrown branches, the forest covered itself with a carpet of fine green needles, aromatizing the surroundings with a pungent, yet sweet smell.
Dawn broke over the sharp mountain ridges, throwing spears of golden light over the daunting city.

The wind howled as it ran through my hair, making me shiver yet providing a sense of belonging.
It was not the morbid heat I could not stand, but rather the smoke that curled and crowded against my lungs.
Like the unfurling petals of a vermillion-coloured flower, the flames rose up and engulfed the pieces of wood as the fire burned - a minute of silence.

The perfect pictorial view took my breath away to another world, which completely changed me when I returned.
I couldn’t put my thoughts into words, speechless.
That’s when the forgotten and disconcerting emotions hastened back, the spine-chilling reminiscences that were once lost.

Pain wrapped its fingers around my throat, obstructing the last fragment of my good memories.
A bullet shot through my nerves, making me lose the tranquil and secure perceptions, reminding me of the agonizing pain, once again.
The lifeless body I held in my arms as I pled for help that night, while I stared at the river, gushing with dark red blood instead of the crystal-clear waters.
As the raindrops hit my cheek, it was no different to the heavy tears that I wept at the tragedy.

The forest closed up on me, as I could even taste the suffocation in the deceptive maze I was left stuck in.
A minute of pure corruption, this time it was a minute of thinking anxiously.
I ran, as fast as I ever have before, to get out if the forest and end up in the overwhelming cities within.
Maybe it was best to be over-burdened, than to be reminded of the worst pain…
