The Great Australian Desert

Desert, desert, desert, hot and dry.
A bilby burrow next to my camp keeping
me awake through the night.
I woke up and I had rodents crawling on me.
The sun was scorching down on me
Making me thirsty as I wish I had just
a drop of water to wet my tongue.
Cacti surrounding me, I felt trapped with
spikes poking me wherever I'd go.
The red soil across the desert stretching as
far as the eye can reach.
Camels in the distance slowly walking away.
It’s getting hotter and hotter,
I’m in need of a new camp.
Sandstorm ahead dancing closer and closer to me.
