The Greater Glider, Australia's largest gliding mammal,
Thick, dark, grey-brown fur all over their body.
Long, furry prehensile tail,
Large furry ears enable them to hear.
Hungry for eucalyptus leaves and sometimes combs of radiata pines,
Searching, gliding many times in a day.
Inhabitants of manna gums and mountain gum trees,
Seeking shelter in the hollows of the trees.
A beautiful animal that one day may not be with us,
Doing our best to help protect it.
Planting more trees and more shrubs to help,
The survival of this special species is very important.
