The Green Sea Turtle

The greatest of the hard-backed turtles,

Swimming through the deep blue ocean.

The ruler of reefs of corals,

Creating lots of the action,

The turtle is a herbivore,

It eats algae and some seaweed.

Sweeping along the ocean floor,

With lots and lots and lots of speed.

Growing to 1.2 metres,

Sadly, they are being hunted.

They will lay with their rear flippers,

And they are also endangered.

We must protect nesting beaches,

It is important to do so,

To save the whole of their species,

Lets make it so we’re not their foe.
