The Helmeted Honeyeater

Yellow and black, full of fluff.
Endangered species that's no bluff.
Used to be many so they say.
Bushfires collapsed their habitats away.
Fire, fire spreading near.
A woodland bird, so dear.
Flying, flocking far away.
Lucky to escape from the fire's spray.
Two hundred left, counted in the wild.
Helmeted honeyeaters, some just a child.
