A bygone era,

Its titans remain as only shells of their true nature.

Our curiosity peaked

At the fossils degraded, and denatured.

As we theorize

Over the looks and acts of these creatures,

We’ve yet to understand

We’ll really never know said features.

From the littlest raptor,

To the biggest sauropods.

I wish I could truly see

This chorus of fallen gods.

If only, if only,

I could live amongst the giants

Who ruled the land millions ago,

But I guess nature had to be compliant.

The dinosaurs were truly mighty,

But little can be struck down with such force

By a ball of flame and be defiant.
