The silent koala

Slowly climbs the tree

And nestles in the leaves

One koala

All alone.

He mourns

For his family

No longer there for him.

Out of the darkness

Two bright lights

The engine cluttering along

Koala hides.

It stops

Footsteps come closer

The glint of metal

Click goes the cage

The koala shut in tight

Reunited with his family

But always out of reach

He silently cries.
