The kookaburra laughs as the soft shine of the sun is exposed.

I cover my ears with my blanket.

Annoyed by the laughs.

The sun rises even more.

Filling my room with bright light.

I don’t want to get up.

Not today, just today.

The kookaburra laughs, again.

I cover my ears with my pillow, annoyed.

Groups of kookaburras keep laughing.

The more they laugh.

The more annoyed I am.

The kookaburras laugh, again.

Like they know I feel annoyed.

As the sun reaches its final angle.

The kookaburras fly away.

As if they never came to visit.
