Bleak, barren land once bursting with life,
Now covered with stumps, a reminder of those who’ve past
She stands solely above the trampled leaves,
Growing shadows of concrete make her grieve

Dark shadows swallow all hope,
Her vibrant green branches, the only reminder
Peaceful chirps, silenced by deafening thuds,
Drumming sounds of metal echo
Hollow space, weeping winds.

One blink, her world disappeared,
A world as bright as a triumph of daffodils
Birds glided through the infinite blue sky, piercing through clouds,
Butterflies fluttered, like graceful dancers

The lonely tree,
Lays on the abandoned land, with her blemished branches
As she remembers,
Those days when she saw a bright future
Now dark and hopeless
Breathing her last breath,
She finally sleeps.
