The Loss of the Tree

Once there was a massive tree 

Which gave much fruit for free 

But one day it stopped 

And the only things it dropped 

Were the leaves that once had adorned it  

The people were in grief 

For they thought there was a thief 

That had stolen all their resources 

The truth of its decay 

Was the fault for their delay  

In making sure the tree was healthy
