The Lost Australian Fritillary

Colours of orange and brown
flapping its wings all around
it goes up high and down low
flapping its wings wherever it goes
Hiding from others nowhere to be seen
you’ll never find where it’s been
near the ground or open coasts,
we don’t know where it goes
On the ground next to its food
babies are laid singly by its food
but soon no more will be laid
because there will be none to play,
We say we will help but we never do
we’re stubborn unkind and hateful too
so why don’t we help save the day
to help them flourish and grow today
