The forest was once an exquisite place.

However one day, something was awry,

A crack,

A snap.

The wind would howl through the willowy trees,

Trying and trying to hum a warning.

All it could do was wail a woeful sound.

Crack

The animals would bellow and weep.

They were terrified because of the last time it came,

They remembered the agony, murder and sin the monster inflicted.

Snap

The village prepared for it was coming,

They fortified their walls with gnarled blue-grey stone,

They prepared sharp, formidable weapons for the war

Crack

The monster was approaching,

Its deafening roar and booming feet couldn’t be avoided

It trampled through the forest, until it found the small feeble village

Snap, too late…
