The salty ocean breeze rustles my hair

The crashing waves calm me

The sun is slowly rising, licking the endless expanse of water

Its sweltering heat making the air sticky and humid

The water is as clear as diamonds

Shimmering in the morning sun

Exotic fish swim energetically

Creating neverending ripples on the water's surface

Turtles swim lazily about

Knowing little about the suffocating plastic around them

Squawking seabirds soar high in the air

Their frantic noise irritating passers by

The sand is soft and sticky under my feet

As I stand up and walk along the beach

I lie down in my hammock

The gentle breeze swaying me

And all of a sudden the sun is sinking

Slowly transforming, from orange to red to pink to nothing

Disappearing as day turned to night

The moon now the only source of light
